On the picture above is the very most defining symbol of the place where I grew up and what the country once was. It is the Prague Castle called Hradčany, the former residence of the medieval emperors of Bohemia. In the foreground is the Charles Bridge built during the reign of the emperor Charles IV in 1357 AD.
